But the American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa fought policy, claiming it would be unfair and ineffective.

The regulation aims to give police another resources continue to be responsible parents who failed to control or even hide criminal activity child s, said Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, a Cedar Rapids Police Department spokesman.

We Re really just trying to get more cooperation and build more resources in the community with the elderly, Hamblin said.

Cedar Rapids City Council about a year from the vote on the proposed regulations, Hamblin said. Members of the police and the Council will discuss the Bill with the residents and neighborhood associations, but no meeting has yet been set, he said.
